Warriors duo visit Worcester Snoezelen with Matthews Construction

Warriors duo Francois Hougaard and Wynand Olivier donned hard hats and hi vis jackets to help out with a DIY SOS-style build last week.

The players were invited to Worcester Snoezelen to help Matthews Construction build an extension at the site in Turnpike Close, St Johns.

South Africa internationals Hougaard and Olivier also met with fans during Friday's visit to the charity which provides a sensory environment for people with disabilities or learning difficulties.

Warriors work closely with Matthews Construction, who sponsor Olivier and England international Ben Te'o.

Chris Matthews, one of the family firm's directors, said they were first made aware of the charity when approached to build a wheelchair ramp.

They have now used their trade contracts to help build an extension.

After hearing how some of the centre's users were fans, they organised for the players to come down.

“It was great to see their faces and the players were absolutely brilliant.

“They made all the people at the centre feel really comfortable and enjoyed chatting to them.”

The extension is expected to be completed by the end of next week.
