Baldwin joins Dragons on loan

Warriors scrum-half Luke Baldwin has joined Guinness Pro-14 club Dragons on a season-long loan.

Baldwin, 28, joined Warriors from Bristol ahead of the 2015/16 season having started his career at Saracens and played for Bedford Blues in the Greene King IPA Championship on a dual registration.

Baldwin made his Warriors debut against Wasps in January 2016 and has played 36 times for the club, scoring four tries.

Last season he made two first team appearances, the first as a replacement in the European Challenge Cup victory over Stade Francais in Paris and the other as a starter in the Premiership Rugby Cup match at Saracens in November.

Baldwin had a spell on loan at Harlequins towards the end of last season and was called up by England Sevens only to suffer a shoulder injury while training with the squad.

“This is a great opportunity for Luke for Luke to get quality game time with Dragons,” said Warriors Director of Rugby Alan Solomons.

Baldwin, who has reported for pre-season training with Dragons, has linked up again with Dean Ryan, the former Warriors Director of Rugby who has joined the Welsh regional side in a similar role from the RFU.
