Will Spencer signed for Warriors ahead of the 2016/17 Aviva Premiership season.

The giant lock's Sixways story has been quite a remarkable one since his arrival, having had to wait for his debut until December 2016 against Newport Gwent Dragons.

The match marked Spencer's first game in almost two years following a frustrating lengthy injury lay-off.

And, after impressing in his opportunities in the European Challenge Cup and Anglo-Welsh Cup throughout December and January, Spencer soon became a mainstay of Warriors' Premiership side for the remainder of the 2016/17 season.

After 17 appearances across the campaign, which included vital tries in wins over Bristol Rugby and former club Bath Rugby, Spencer was rewarded with a call-up to an England training camp at the end of the season.

He was then named in their squad to take on the Barbarians at Twickenham in May where he came off the bench in the 28-14 win.

Born in Hampshire, Spencer progressed through the ranks at Bath Rugby Academy after joining the club in 2010 and stepped up to the first-team in 2014.

A graduate of the University of Bath and St Paul’s College in West Sussex, Spencer made 11 Aviva Premiership appearances during his time at The Rec and and was also part of London Welsh’s Championship-winning side in the 2013/14 campaign while on loan.
