Monday night is rugby night!

Warriors’ Academy team will be aiming to put things right when they meet a strong Exeter side on the Sixways stadium pitch on Monday night (7.30pm).

They misfired against an international-sprinkled Bristol line-up last Monday and trailed 3-26 eight minutes into the second half, before discovering their touch and intensity and closing the gap to nine points at the final whistle.
Academy manager Andrew Stanley is as determined as his players that Monday’s opportunity to show their true colours won’t be missed.
“We were disappointed with the first half performance,” Stan says. “Bristol brought a very strong side but, even so, we’d expected to put a better performance in. We didn’t let our heads drop and we managed to work our way back into the game. In the end, we had them on the back foot.”
The Worcester line-up was similar to the one that had travelled to Kingston Park and come away with an A League win over Newcastle three weeks before, which added to the disappointment.
“The boys have set themselves very high standards this season,” Stan adds. “Fortunately, the Exeter match gives us a chance to get it out of our system.”
Monday night crowds have been entertained by the likes of James Collins, Jamie Lennard, Chris Pennell, Alex Grove, Will Runciman, Matt Mullan, Callum Black and a host of others this season.
The games are fast and open and have attracted a growing following. Forthcoming confirmed fixtures after the Exeter match are:
Academy vs Sale (Stadium pitch, 7.30pm, Monday, October 30)
Warriors A vs Sale Jets (Stadium pitch, Guinness A League North Conference, 7.30pm, Monday, November 20)
Warriors A vs Newcastle (Stadium pitch, Guinness A League North Conference, 7.30pm, Monday, December 4)
For A League games on the stadium pitch, entry is free to debenture, season ticket-holders and under 18s, but costs £3 for adults – pay on the gate. Academy games are free to all. For further details, call the ticket office on 0870 990 5650.
