Warriors Academy picked for Welsh U19 examination

Worcester Warriors’ stars of the future have a chance to test themselves when the Welsh U19 team meets a Sixways Academy side, on Monday, as part of their preparations for the Six Nations championship.

The match replaces the scheduled Academy match against Bath.
Twelve of the Warriors line-up that faced Newcastle Falcons in the A League encounter, last Monday, are aged 19 or below, so supporters can expect an intense and combative match that will provide a true measure of their progress this season.
Academy manager Andrew Stanley and assistant Gary Meechan are delighted that the Wales U19 management have requested the game.
“It’s a great prestige fixture to have a national side want to come and play the Academy,” Stan says. “We’ll be doing our best to make sure it’s a beneficial exercise for them and that, as a result, they’ll want to play us again in the future.”
The game kicks off at 7.30pm and will take place on the stadium pitch, weather-permitting, with Pitch 2 the alternative.
As usual the Clubhouse bar will be open for food and drink. There is no charge to watch the match.
