Three Warrior starlets in England U19 squad

Scrum-half Johnny Arr, flanker Matt Cox and centre Greg King have been named in the England U19 squad to prepare for the clash with Italy next Friday.

All three have enjoyed sparkling form in Sixways Academy and Guinness A League matches this season and will be bidding to be named in Nigel Redman’s starting line-up at Sunbury (2.15pm).
Winger Miles Benjamin and prop Matt Deacon were also in contention to make it a nap hand for Andrew Stanley’s highly-respected Worcester squad, but injury ruled has them out.
“Obviously, we’re delighted and very pleased for the lads,” Stan says. “They’ve worked hard and we hope they have a great experience. It reflects well on what we’re doing here at Sixways.”
Saracens are the only Guinness Premiership side with more players selected than Warriors – they have four – while National League minnows Cinderford are celebrating the call-up for Joe Williams.
England’s meeting with Italy is the first of three warm-up matches for the IRB U19 World Championships, which are being held in Northern Ireland.
They are seeded third in April’s tournament after securing third place in Dubai last season, their best-ever finish.
Their IRB campaign opens against tenth seed Samoa at Shaw’s Bridge, on Thursday, April 5, before they take on seventh-ranked Argentina at Belfast Harlequin, four days later, then second favourites New Zealand at Ulster’s Ravenhill ground, on Friday, April 13.
England are in the top tier Division A and the results of their pool games will determine who they play in round four.
Before the Belfast mission, their warm-up games also include clashes with Wales (on either Friday, March 2, or Sunday, March 4) and France, at Henley’s Dry Leas stadium, on Saturday, March 24.
