Warriors fans go with the glow

Worcester Warriors fans are easy to spot any days of the week, wearing the gold-and-blue with pride – but now they can be spotted at night, too.

That’s because Warriors’ Sixways Store has started selling special light-reflective scarves and dog leads.
The glow-in-the-dark accessories have a special Scotchlite yarn woven into them, meaning they look normal during daylight but become highly-visible at night.
They’re made by a textile firm at Kibworth Beauchamp, in the heart of Leicester Tigers country, which also manufactures reflective school scarves, blankets, dog coats and ropes for the emergency services.
“The first consignment of dog leads sold out in a few days, and we’re expecting the scarves to be very popular too,” says Sixways Store manager Jane Fudger. “The kids will be able to wear them on the way to and from school, as well as the ground on match-days. Anything that improves the safety of our supporters has to be a good thing.”
Warriors fan Nicola Tredwell is just one on Jane’s satisfied customers.
“It’s great that the club’s able to offer supporters something like this,” the season ticket-holder says. “Stay safe and show you care about the Warriors. What more could you ask?”
When Dale Rasmussen came to have a look at the scarves in the shop, it caused a stir, with several volunteers stepping forward to model it with him.
Season ticket-holder Cathy Troth eventually won the chance.
“The scarves are a really good idea,” she said. “It certainly looks good on Dale!”
The retro reflective safety scarves and dog leads can be bought from the club shop, please visit or call 01905 459308.
