Mullan handed starting spot for Italy

Warriors forward Matt Mullan has retained a starting spot in the England Under-20 side for the Six Nations clash with Italy Under-21s on Friday night.

Mullan impressed in England’s 31-5 victory over Scotland in the opening game of the Under-21 Six Nations at Bath’s Recreation Ground last Friday.
And the 19-year-old, who has been in eye-catching form in Sixways Academy and Guinness A League matches this season, has been named as a hooker for the clash with Italy, the night before the two senior sides run our at Twickenham.
Mullan is joined by Warriors team-mate Matt Cox who is again named as a replacement after the flanker climbed off the bench in the Scotland game to grab a devastating brace of tries.
The four home nations, Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales, will field U20 teams in this year’s U21 Six Nations Championship, whilst France and Italy will field U21 sides.
England also play Ireland Under 20s in Athlone (February 23), France Under 21s at Northampton (March 9) and Wales Under 20s at Newport (March 16).
