Three Warriors in England U19 squad

Winger Miles Benjamin, centre Greg King and flanker Matt Cox have all been named in the England U19 squad to prepare for the clash with Wales U19s next Friday (March 2).

All three have enjoyed eye-catching form in Sixways Academy and Guinness A League matches this season and will now be bidding to be named in the starting line-up at Aberavon (7.15pm).
Warriors dominate the call-ups to the 23-man England U19 squad with a hat-trick of selections from the highly-respected Worcester set-up. Only Guinness Premiership side Saracens have received the same number of selections.
“We’re delighted and very pleased for the three lads who have won selection, we hope they have a great experience,” said Academy Manager Andrew Stanley.
“They’ve all worked very hard this season with Warriors. Jonny Arr, Matt Deacon and George Thomas are also on the fringes of the squad, so there is the possibility that we can add to the number of players in the squad for future games.”
England’s meeting with Wales is the penultimate warm-up match ahead of the showpiece IRB U19 World Championships, being held in Northern Ireland this April.
England are seeded third in the tournament after securing third place in Dubai last season, their best-ever finish.
Their IRB campaign opens against tenth seed Samoa at Shaw’s Bridge, on Thursday, April 5, before they take on Argentina at Belfast Harlequin, four days later, then second favourites New Zealand at Ulster’s Ravenhill ground, on Friday, April 13.
England have been placed in the top tier, Division A, and the results of their pool games will determine who they play in round four.
Before the Belfast mission England finish their preparations with a warm-up game with France, at Henley’s Dry Leas stadium, on Saturday, March 24.
