Warriors back The Big One!

Worcester Warriors put their weight behind the Comic Relief when they played their part in the first day of Debenhams ‘Mega Day Sale’.

A selection of first team players, including Miguel Avramovic, Nick Runciman and Simon Whatling, sold tickets to the Guinness Premiership match against Newcastle Falcons, with 50% of the ticket money going directly to Comic Relief and helping towards a world free from poverty.
Employees from club sponsors npower, the Official Energy Partner of Red Nose Day 2007, were also at the store to help push the event.
And Debenhams, in conjunction with the club, also conducted a day long free prize draw offering one lucky person the chance of a family ticket to come along to tonight’s game and cheer on Warriors against Newcastle.
“It was great to have had the players in our Debenhams store for the Thursday leg of our mega day sales. The players generated a real buzz in the store, with the shoppers and staff enjoying seeing them. They made a great day for the store all the better,” said Sue Forsyth, duty manager Debenhams Worcester.
Dan Zaltzman, Warriors Head of Marketing, added: “As a club we have four chosen charities – Acorns Children’s Hospice, Wooden Spoon, Macmillan Nurses and County Air Ambulance – but it’s great to offer further help and get behind such a worthwhile national charity as Comic Relief. Debenhams in Worcester offered us a great platform for this work and I am extremely grateful to them for their help.”
