Ruddock revolution starts at the Rec!

Worcester Warriors will kick-off the 2007/2008 Guinness Premiership campaign with a trip to the Recreation Ground to face Bath Rugby.

Director of Rugby Mike Ruddock will enjoy his first game in charge in the English top-flight on the weekend of September 15 against Bath before Warriors welcome European champions London Wasps to Sixways for the first home game of the year the following weekend.

Warriors face trips to London Irish and Newcastle Falcons and a home clash with Harlequins over the busy Christmas and New Year period. Worcester will tackle local rivals Gloucester in the third game of the season at Kingsholm before the Cherry and Whites visit Sixways at the end of March.

Ruddock’s side complete the season with a home clash against Newcastle Falcons at home in May.

All the dates and kick-off times could still be subject to change and any details will be posted on the official website. Clubs will now set days and kick off times for their matches and this process should be completed to achieve a consolidated fixture list by early July. Until then, this fixture list should be treated as provisional

However, the club has already revealed plans to play the majority of first team fixtures on Saturday afternoon at 3pm next season to ensure that both season ticket and debenture holders get the most our of their chosen package.

“We’re already looking forward to the season kicking off and it’s a very demanding and exciting fixture list for us,” said boss Ruddock.

“Starting with Bath at the Rec is a great venue and we will be up against a very strong side, especially when they are at home. However, we take a lot of confidence from the victory achieved against Bath at Sixways last season.

“The first home clash is against London Wasps and that is a huge fixture for us first up. It is an opportunity for us to set the tone on home soil against the European champions. It’s a tough start for us but also a very exciting one.”
