Warriors have been handed a tough draw in this years EDF Energy Cup, but no one in the camp is fazed by the prospect at hand.
Opening at home against last years runners-up Ospreys in group C, Worcester will also have to face London Irish and Harlequins in the reformatted competition.
Having abandoned its regionalized pools the cup has opened up with some fascinating encounters. Typified by the interest already show in the Warriors – Ospreys encounter, which will also be the showpiece BBC live television match on the opening weekend, October 27.
Mike Ruddock, Warriors Director of Rugby commented; ‘We’re looking forward to taking park in this years EDF Cup and there can be no better start than a home match against last years runners up in the Ospreys.
Adding, “They proved last year how good they are by winning the Celtic league, runners up in the EDF and performing well in Europe. It’s going to be a mighty challenge, but one we are all looking forward to.”
