Thousands revel at Sixways Live ’07

Concert-goers enjoyed a memorable musical spectacular as Status Quo and a host of top acts rocked Sixways Live ’07.

Thousands of music lovers arrived at the home of the Worcester Warriors to watch the outdoor concert headlined by rock gods Status Quo.

And they were treated to three-and-a-half hours packed full of top live music from My Sergeant Mask, Funky Skunk, Insanity Beach and the Quo.

Fans arrived at the stadium from as early as 7.30am as the atmosphere slowly built ahead of the big show.

My Sergeant Mask, who were recently crowned winners of the BBC Midlands Today School of Rock competition, thrilled fans as they kicked off the concert at 5.30pm with a high-tempo set.

Local music stars Funky Skunk, who are well known to Warriors supporters from match day performances, were next on and treated the crowd to 45-minutes packed full of classy covers and energy.

Insanity Beach then brought the bubbling crowd to the boil and turned up the volume yet another notch before legendary rockers Quo took to the stage at 8.30pm.

Not even the wet weather could dampen the spirits of the crowd as timeless hits such as Rockin’ All Over the World, Whatever You Want and Down Down were belted out by Francis Rossi, Rick Parfitt, Andrew Bown, John ‘Rhino’ Edwards and Matt Letley.

A night not to forget at Sixways!
