Ruddock confirms first Warriors squad

Mike Ruddock has revealed his first squad by confirming a 12-man party for the Middlesex Sevens at Twickenham on Saturday (August 18).

Ruddock will take charge of his first competitive games since being named Director of Rugby at Sixways as Warriors face Gloucester and London Wasps.

And the Director of Rugby has named a strong squad that features captain Pat Sanderson, first team stars Shane Drahm, Thinus Delport and Matt Powell and England Sevens international Marcel Garvey.

“This will be the first opportunity to see some of the players in a competitive situation and together with Clive Griffiths and Billy McGinty we are anticipating some quality rugby,” said Ruddock.

The squad will play on the day in the club’s official new orange charity shirt launched in conjunction with Acorns Children’s Hospice.

Each sale of the orange playing shirt – which features the Acorns logo, is sponsored by npower and manufactured by official kit suppliers Kukri – will generate a £5 donation to the charity. The new shirt is available in the Sixways Store and online at www.wrfc.co.uk
