Warriors name powerful team for Albion trip

Director of Rugby Mike Ruddock has named a power-packed Warriors side for the pre-season clash against Plymouth Albion on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

Pat Sanderson will skipper the side at Brickfields with Gavin Quinnell and Tom Wood, fresh from his impressive showing in the Middlesex Sevens, also starting in the back row.

Craig Gillies will be joined by Phil Murphy in the second row with Tony Windo handed a starting shirt in the front row alongside Chris Fortey and Tevita Taumoepeau.

Rising star Chris Pennell is named at full back after grabbing four tries at Twickenham and Marcel Garvey will be looking to add to his try haul after a stunning display at the home of English rugby.

Worcester will be without all of their six summer signings. Samoan international Loki Crichton and Fijian Netani Talei are away on World Cup duty while Sam Tuitupou, Rico Gear and Greg Rawlinson will not join Warriors until later in the year. Shaun Ruwers is unavailable for selection.
