Hickey set for comeback in Irish clash

Back row star Drew Hickey is set to make his comeback on the eve of the new season after being named on the bench for the clash with London Irish on Saturday (kick off 4pm).

Hickey has been out of action since having elbow surgery in the summer but is primed for a return to action in the pre-season clash with Irish at Sixways.

Director of Rugby Mike Ruddock has named the same starting line-up that recorded a 19-13 victory over Plymouth Albion last Saturday.

“We have selected a very strong team for the first game of the campaign at Sixways,” said Ruddock.

“Clive Griffiths, Billy McGinty and myself have been really pleased with the way the players have worked on their skills and conditioning during the summer.

“Hopefully we can transfer the good work from training to a game situation against a very good outfit.”
