Warriors Allstarzz shine at Worcester Dance Festival!

This week saw the inaugural Worcestershire Cheerleading and Dance Festival held at Perdiswell Leisure Centre and Warriors Allstarzz were there to light the way.

The competition coordinated by competition managers for Worcestershire proved to be a huge success with girls performing in front of an enthusiastic crowd and professional judging panel.

The Warriors Community team who work across the region developing rugby, education and active lifestyles supported the event with the expertise of the Warriors Allstarzz who swapped the buzz of a Warriors match day to the sports halls of Worcestershire schools. The Allstarzz visited six of the competing schools in the weeks leading up to the event to work on the confidence and chorography of the girls taking part.

The Kukri International sports dance team provided demonstrations and guidance to the girls from, The Chase, Dysons Perrins, Haybridge, Pershore HS, Hanley Castle and Prince Henrys High School as well as supporting the festival. The Allstarzz also providing a breathtaking display to close the festival.

“Our job takes us all over the world to huge events and large stadiums like Sixways Stadiums. The buzz we got today seeing the performances of the young girls was equal to that of us performing ourselves!” commented Rachel Wensak, Warriors Allstarzz Dance Captain.

The Warriors Allstarzz who work hard across local communities often swap stadiums for classrooms as they deliver their dance for health schemes of work.

“This is a really innovative move for Worcester Warriors, we have been successful in delivering rugby, health and education programmes, but did not have the expertise to meet the needs of non traditional sports such as dance. The Allstarzz impact has been huge and we are working at ensuring they fulfil an ongoing role with the Warriors Community Programme,” added Tom Ryder, Warriors Community Manager.
