Latest news – A-Team match goes ahead

Worcester Warriors have confirmed that tonight’s clash with Newcastle Falcons in the Guinness A League is still due to be played after a morning pitch inspection.

The pitch at Sixways Stadium has been deemed playable following consulations with the Met Office and Pitchcare and Newcastle have started the journey down from the North-East for the game that will kick off at 7.30pm.

Veteran prop Tony Windo will lead a power packed Warriors side as Monday Night rugby makes a welcome return to the home of the Warriors.

Windo is named in the front row alongside former British Lion Darren Morris as Academy boss Andrew Stanley names a strong line-up as the club looks to build on the impressive win away at Leicester Tigers last week.

Tim Collier and Phil Murphy are paired together in the second row and fit-again Gavin Quinnell plays in the back row.

Mark Tucker is named at centre alongside Greg King and Tongan speedster Aisea Havili and South African international Thinus Delport are also named in the back division.

* Tickets for tonight’s game cost £3 for adults and are free for juniors. Debeture and Season Ticket holders can gain entry for free.
