Mike Ruddock hailed the professionalism of the Warriors as they stormed into the last eight of the European Challenge Cup with a 46-0 bonus point victory over Bucuresti at soggy Sixways.
Director of Rugby Ruddock watched his side run in seven tries as they won their final Pool 2 clash against the Romanians to complete a perfect six out of six campaign.
Worcester can now look forward to a home quarter-final in early April as they hunt for some silverware this campaign.
“I asked the boys to be professional because there was a danger that they would look ahead to Bristol and not do the job,” said Ruddock.
“I was delighted with the way we approached the game and the manner in which we got the job done.
“We had a number of young players out there and guys like James Collins, Callum Black, Will Bowley, Matt Mullan, Tom Wood and did extremely well.
“It was also really pleasing to keep a clean sheet and not let in a point. They turned up eager to front up and really have a go. They were physical and it took time to break them down, they were stubborn.
“But when we did we scored some great tries, none better than the try by Rico Gear, and in better conditions we could have scored even more.”
Warriors now face Bristol in seven days time at Sixways and Ruddock is eager for his team to carry on their European form in the domestic campaign.
“It is a massive game with Bristol coming up, hopefully we can take some of the play we have produced against Newcastle and Montauban and also today into that game,” he said.
“We know how hard it is going to be; they are an excellent side and put some points on Worcester when they came here at the start of last season.
“But this time we are eager to prove a point and show what we can do in the league now this side is really taking shape.”
