Big Greg pumped up for Bristol challenge

Giant lock Greg Rawlinson insists the Warriors are ready to relish the Bristol battle when Guinness Premiership rugby returns to Sixways Stadium on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).

New Zealand international Rawlinson believes Warriors have started to show their real form in recent weeks with the narrow defeat to Newcastle followed by Euro bonus point wins over Montauban and Bucuresti.

Bristol now arrive at Sixways Stadium as Warriors hunt that crucial first win of the campaign.

And after a positive week of training, Rawlinson admits the players can hardly wait for the big kick off.

“I particularly liked the way we played against Newcastle, I thought we played well as a team and should have won,” Rawlinson told The Warrior matchday programme.

“We gelled as backs and forwards and gave a real glimpse into the future and what we can be about and what we are capable of.

“I know from speaking to some of the guys what to expect against Bristol,” added Rawlinson.

“It’s going to be tough up front but it’s a challenge we all relish. I hope the fans really get behind us because they have been great so far. The ground is smaller than back home yet the atmosphere at Sixways is just amazing.”
