Warriors add weight to Flagship Event

International duo Rico Gear and Darren Morris were on hand last Thursday (March 6) to present one of the awards at the Hereford and Worcester Sports Partnership prestigious awards event.

The Sixways outfit who work closely with the Sports Partnership to support the growth of sport across the sub region sponsored one of the awards at the evening, that saw 42 people shortlisted across 14 categories ranging from Disabled Sports Personality of the Year to the Young Volunteer of the Year.

Worcester Warriors sponsored the Outstanding Contribution Award, which was aptly won by Robin Farr of Tenbury RUFC.  Mr Farr’s generations of selfless commitment and leadership at every level of the Tenbury club made him a deserved winner.

‘Warriors were proud to sponsor such an important award to support the Hereford and Worcester Sports Partnership and were delighted that Robin a member of the Rugby fraternity was recognised for such a great commitment to the game,’ commented Tom Ryder, Warriors Community Manager.

Warriors work closely with the Sports Partnership alongside other community partners such as the RFU and of course principle community partner npower.  Together allowing the community team to grow the workforce and increase the opportunities to deliver grass roots sport, club and coach education, as well as education and leisure opportunities to the sub region and wider region of the West Midlands.
