Warriors back in Guinness A League action

Warriors Academy Manager Andrew Stanley has called for his side to finish the season in style as they prepare for the final two games in the Guinness A League – starting at Leeds Carnegie tonight (kick-off 7pm.

Worcester travel to Leeds on Monday night – supporters are reminded that the previously scheduled A team game with Doncaster is now cancelled – before facing Sale Sharks at home (Monday, April 7) as they complete the schedule in the Northern Conference.

“We’ve been challenging for the top spot in the league this season and we want to finish with teo big performances,” said Stan.

“Although we can no longer catch Northampton we want to consolidate and take the runners up spot.

“We were disappointed that we lost to Leeds last time, it dispelled any opportunity to challenge Northampton for top spot and qualify for the play-offs.

“We are looking to go and give a good account of ourselves in Leeds, however, we will give them plenty of respect and they will field a strong side.

“The final game sees us welcome Sale and we are looking for a really good last display here at Sixways Stadium. The support for the A League this season has been fantastic and we have seen the crowds really grow. It would be great to finish with a bumper crowd backing us and a win.”

Warriors have named a strong side for the trip to Leeds with Dom Feaunati and Chris Fortey set to make their comebacks in the clash after injuries. Fly half Loki Crichton is also handed a start in the side captained by Phil Murphy.
