Backroom boost as Hansen agrees deal

Worcester Warriors are delighted to announce that Keir Hansen, Head of Strength and Conditioning at Sixways Stadium, has agreed a new deal with the Guinness Premiership club.

Hansen, who previously worked with the New Zealand Warriors rugby league team, has signed a two-year deal that will see him remain at the club until 2010.

Hansen, a graduate of Auckland University of Technology, has become an integral part of the Warriors support staff and has now opted against a return to his homeland to continue his excellent work with the club.

“It is great news that Keir Hansen has agreed to extend his stay with the Warriors,” said Director of Rugby Mike Ruddock.

“Behind every successful support team is a sports scientist of exceptional quality and Keir has exceptional qualities as a conditioning coach and organiser.

“Keir originally talked about returning to New Zealand with his lovely wife Sue where he would have no difficulty working at an elite level. However, we have managed to convince him to stay here at the Warriors and try and see the job through.

“I was really encouraged by the fact that Keir wanted to stay and could identify with the progress that is being made behind the scenes at Sixways Stadium.

“Keir is a consummate professional who has great organisational skills and great expertise. There is no doubt in my mind that he will be an instrumental figure in the further development of the Warriors brand over the next two years.”
