Benjamin and Cox ready for Aussie test

Worcester Warriors young duo Miles Benjamin and Matt Cox will both be looking to play a big part when England tackle Australia in the IRB Junior World Championship on Saturday.

A place in the semi-finals of the championships is up for grabs for the two unbeaten sides and flanker Cox and winger Benjamin, who have both scored in the opening pool matches, will be gunning for starting spots for the clash at Rodney Parade in Newport.

“You’d expect any Southern Hemisphere side to be strong and we know Australia have got a lot of experienced players who’ve appeared in Super 14,” said coach Nigel Redman.

“But while we’ll respect Australia, we’re ready to do the jobs we need to make sure we perform really well against them on Saturday.

“Australia are the group favourites, they are the third seeds in the tournament and we’re going to have to reproduce our first half performances in recent games for 80 minutes, both in attack and defence.”

Meanwhile, Warriors back row Netani Talei will start at number eight as the Flying Fijians face New Zealand Maori in the Pacific Nations Cup on Saturday.
