Warriors delight as npower win top award

RWE npower, Worcester Warriors main club sponsor, has been awarded the prestigious CommunityMark from Business in the Community (BITC).

The aim of the award is to recognise and highlight the positive impact business can have in the community, through long term commitment and investment. npower is the only utility business, amongst  21 other companies in the UK, to receive this accolade.

The CommunityMark is a new BITC standard which has been created to recognise companies that are good investors in local communities and who have brought about real and positive changes.

Launched last year, the CommunityMark is the only recognition of this kind in the UK and is endorsed by both Government and voluntary sector leaders.

Tom Ryder, Warriors Community Development Manager, said: “This is a significant achievement for npower and as community partners we are delighted to celebrate the recognition amongst other leading companies.

“The support they have shown the clubs community programme since its inception has been central to our growth, we see firsthand the responsible and community focused approach of npower and is just reward that they are receiving such prestigious national recognition.”

npower support the Warriors ever expanding community programme and allow the Warriors to use the inspirational nature of professional rugby and the Warriors stars to inspire our younger generations.

Alison Cole, corporate communications director, for npower, said; “RWE npower is proud to receive the prestigious CommunityMark. This award recognises the achievements, hard work and dedication of the people that work across our 60 sites. The company cares for the communities in which it operates and will continue to play an active and positive role in these areas.”
