Pocket Rocket lands at Warriors camp

Worcester star Sam ‘Pocket Rocket’ Tuitupou showed he is just as big a hit off the field as on it when he made a special visit to a Warriors camp this week.

New Zealand international Tuitupou visited children on the three-day Warriors camp at Kings Hawford, run for budding rugby players aged between six and 11-years-old.

Forty-five children took part in the camp where they picked up skills from the Community coaching team from Sixways Stadium.

The special guest on the final afternoon of the successful camp was Tuitupou who chatted with the youngsters, posed for pictures, signed autographs and passed on his tips for the top.

Simon Lane, Warriors Community Coach, said: “We had a fantastic camp at Kings Hawford, the children were really enthusiastic and showed some real potential.

“The highlight for many was the arrival of Sammy and he was a huge hit with the children with his bubbly personality and knowledge of the game.”

Worcester Warriors have a busy schedule of rugby camps to give youngsters the chance to pick up the sport.
