Warriors reveal East Stand sponsor deal

Worcester Warriors is delighted to announce an exciting stand sponsorship agreement at Sixways Stadium with Slick Systems.

Stadium design, build and sports seating specialists Slick Systems have this summer spearheaded the creation of a new £8million East Stand and corner administration block at the home of the Warriors.

Slick Systems, a local company and long-term supporter of the club, have agreed an initial five-year partnership, with the option of an extension, to sponsor the stand that will be known as the ‘Slick Systems Stand’ from this season.

The Slick Systems Stand, regarded as one of the best developments in club rugby across Europe, has increased the capacity at the home of the Warriors to over 12,000 and will house fans from the opening league game of the season against Leicester Tigers on Saturday, September 20.

The new stand boasts a state-of-the-art cantilever roof and 120metres of pitch side hospitality with corporate boxes, private balconies and bars, a mouth-watering pitch view restaurant and Warriors Business Club that will allow all of the West Midland businesses to network and socialise in the region’s premier rugby hospitality. A new function room will also be able to cater for 500 covers and make it one of the largest venues in the region outside of Birmingham.

Charlie Little, General Manager at Warriors, said he was delighted that Slick Systems, who have seen the development of the stand through from a temporary structure to the facility it is today, had agreed to become a major new sponsor at the club.

“We were delighted to establish such a partnership with Slick Systems bearing in mind that they are a local business who have proven their worth in stadium design and construction.

“When we saw the designs that they had produced we were blown away with the nature of the stand and as we realised its potential our excitement has continued to grow.

“We believe that we now have the best stand in any rugby ground in the country as we begin to realise our vision of becoming one of the best teams in Europe both on and off the pitch.

“The new Slick Systems Stand is the clearest demonstration yet of how we intend to realise that ambition and another statement of intent from Warriors.”

Also new for the 2008/09 season will be the new Park and Ride service for the city based at Sixways and the car park with capacity for over 1,000 cars that will support the development of the new Slick Systems Stand.

Lea Adams, Group CEO at Slick Systems, said: “We are particularly proud of this project, not only because we have relished the opportunity to be involved in such an ambitious and aspirational development, but also, as long term supporters of Worcester Warriors, we are delighted to be able to offer our support as sponsors.

“We feel that it is fitting to associate our brand as a company with such a proud, ambitious and forward thinking club – attributes which very much mirror our own company principles.”
