Warriors ready for home A League action

Scrum half Matt Powell will feature for Worcester Warriors as they kick-off the Guinness A League season on home soil with the visit of Harlequins tonight (kick-off 7.30pm).

Powell will start his first game back, after missing the Wasps first team game to be with his new baby and wife, as Worcester aim to bounce back after defeat to London Wasps in the opening clash of the A League season last week.

Worcester have named a side full of youthful enthusiasm and raw pace with Charlie Fellows, fresh from his outing in the Guinness Premiership against Leicester Tigers on Saturday, set to start on the wing.

Harlequins are set to name a team including former Worcester player Andy Gomarsall, De Wet Barry and former Sixways Academy star James Percival.

“Harlequins will be a different challenge to the one we faced in Wasps on the opening and we are hoping for a good crowd to come and back us,” said Academy manager Andrew Stanley.

“We are looking forward to our first Guinness A League match on home soil and the team is fired up to getting back to winning ways.”

Debentures and Season Ticket holders gain free admittance to tonight’s game. Adults are charged £3 for admission and juniors can come in for free.
