The first of three regional Dance Festivals took place on the December 9 with 250 young participants taking part in the festival based close to Sixways at Perdiswell Leisure Centre.
The event which was the culmination of eight-weeks of coaching from Warriors Dance Coaches and Teaching staff in the schools saw the biggest dance event held in the region inspire the masses.
With the support of the Warriors Allstarzz, UK Cheerleading Association, Competition Managers and the County Sports Partnership the event was full of action with outstanding performances from all of the competitors from Worcester, Bromsgrove and Wyre Forest School Sports Partnerships.
The competitors all took part in a mass warm up and then performed their dances in front of a judging panel of young Sports leaders from the Hereford and Worcestershire Leadership Academy.
The event was eventually won by South Bromsgrove High School with the ‘Spirit Award’ going to Hanley Castle School both teams will be seen during a half time performance at Sixways this season.
Warriors will be moving the delivery of the Allstarzz Sports Dance Programme to West Worcestershire, South Worcestershire, Reddich and Herefordshire in the next half term as part of the Sport England funded Sports Unlimited project.
