Kai Horstmann admits it will be a ‘big achievement’ to reach his century of games for Worcester Warriors should he be selected to face Sale Sharks on Saturday in the Guinness Premiership (kick-off 3pm).
Back row ace Horstmann, who recently pledged his long-term future to the club, is set to clock up his 100th game for Worcester on Saturday and join Dale Rasmussen and Pat Sanderson as recent Warriors who have recently hit the milestone.
Horstmann, who has scored 10 tries in his time at Warriors since joining in May 2005, admits he will be filled with pride as he celebrates his century.
“To play 100 games for Warriors would be a big, big achievement for me,” said the 27-year-old.
“When I joined the chance of hitting a ton for the club never even crossed my mind. I was only in my early twenties and my ambition was to maintain a regular spot in the starting line-up and take it from there. Things have progressed, in rugby you never know what is going to happen but it has gone really well for me here.
“The club has changed dramatically. You look back at your journey and how things have evolved and it is great to see how things are going in the right direction.
“I would certainly now like to see out my playing days here after signing the new deal. I’ve settled in the area and, most importantly, I enjoy my rugby at Warriors. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.”
