City sporting stars team up

Four of the county’s leading sports celebrities from Warriors and Worcestershire CCC will be going “off the record” on the evening of Thursday, March 12 at Sixways Stadium, to raise money for youth charity The Prince’s Trust.

Hosted by Worcestershire’s answer to Michael Parkinson, BBC’s Dave Bradley, the night will see Steve Rhodes and Kabir Ali from WCCC and Mike Ruddock and Pat Sanderson from Warriors on the spot. Guests will also be given the opportunity for one night only to pose the questions they have always wanted to ask their local heroes.

Sports Night will also give attendees an opportunity to sample the delights of the new Slick Systems Stand at Sixways. The ticket price of £20 includes a hot meal and an opportunity to participate in a sporting quiz and an exceptional auction of sporting prizes. Refreshments will be available from 5.30pm, the meal being served at 6.30pm.

Youth charity The Prince’s Trust helps change young lives. It gives practical and financial support, developing key workplace skills such as confidence and motivation. It works with 14- to 30-year-olds who have struggled at school, have been in care, are long-term unemployed or have been in trouble with the law. The Prince of Wales’s charity has helped more than 575,000 young people since 1976 and supports 100 more each working day. More than three in four young people The Trust helped last year moved into work, education or training.
