Warrior stars inspire Touch Rugby

Stars from Worcester Warriors were on hand on Wednesday night to help inspire, manage and coach the Summer Touch rugby teams.

Twenty players were allocated a team each to coach the skills of touch rugby and many took advantage and produced victories in some testing summer conditions.

The touch players were also able to chat to each player, both before, during and after their fixtures, as well as grab photos and autographs with other star players who were involved.

In Division One both Ryan Powell (Merlins Mavericks) and Chris Latham (Pickeroos) saw their teams grab convincing victories whilst in Division Two Joe Carlisle and his Hasbeens romped home against the Desperados.

Matt Jones (Merlins M&W) and Miles Benjamin (Joshites) also won convincingly while Matt Mullan and his team Touch Smut, smashed George Crook and Aleki Lutui’s team Touch and Feel the Quality.

Finally in division three, Sammy Tuitupou inspired Villapool Gunner to beat Dale Rasmussen’s Sharon’s Team, Matt Cox and his Chadderlsey Corbett Ladies team couldn’t get a winning result again a strong Neville’s Team led by Charlie Fellows.

Finally the game of the whole evening was between an animated Jake Abbott (Sports Partnership) and Jonny Arr (Modus Creative) which resulted in a tight 5-5 draw.

The final round of fixtures will be posted in the coming days. Any questions or queries please contact Harry Orgee on 07736893233 or via harry.orgee@warriors.co.uk
