Page to skipper side against Droitwich

Hooker Jordan Page will captain Worcester Warriors when they conclude the pre-season schedule with a friendly derby against near neighbours Droitwich at The Glyn Mitchell Memorial Ground on Hanbury Road, Droitwich on Saturday (kick-off 3.00pm).

Page will lead a youthful Worcester side that contains many players with Guinness Premiership experience.

Speedsters Charlie Fellows and Earl Collins, fresh from Middlesex 7s action, will play on the wing while England U18 star Andy Short is named alongside trialist Ed Binham in midfield.

Lock Will Bowley is set to line up with David Lyons in the second row while scrum half Ollie Frost, who scored a senior try against Doncaster Knights in pre-season, also starts.

The fixture will double up as a family fun day and has been arranged because Droitwich have provided training facilities for the Warriors during recent seasons. Entry is £3 and the day is expected to attract a large crowd with the gates open at 1pm.

There will also be live music, entertainment, a play area for children, food and opportunities to get a photograph or autograph with the Warriors’ players.

A shuttle service to the game operated by Dudley’s Coaches and costing £1 return, starts from noon at the bus stopsoutside Waitrose car park, the library in St Andrew’s Square and the Lido car park. The last coach leaves at 2.30pm, and returns after the game.
