Ulster pick powerful team for Warriors

Ulster Rugby have named a power packed side to tackle Worcester Warriors in a highly anticipated pre-season clash at Sixways Stadium tonight (Friday).

After a nine try performance against Italian Super 10 side Viadana at Ravenhill, Ulster head to Sixways Stadium, to face Worcester Warriors in their last pre-season friendly (kick-off 7.30pm).

Head Coach Brian McLaughlin has named a more experienced first XV to take on Warriors and reverted back to the pack that gained a 19-7 victory over Newcastle Falcons last week. This will see new boys, Andy Kyriacou and Dan Tuohy, once again start for Ulster.

Andrew Trimble returns to the wing, after a pre-season of rehab and recovery while Timoci Nagusa remains at 14.

Nevin Spence is the only Phoenix Ulster Rugby Academy player in the starting line-up. While Viadana try scorer Jonny Sheils and the Academy’s Ian Porter start on the bench. Chris Henry will captain the Ulster side for the 7.30pm kick off match tomorrow night.

Ulster Team:

(1-8) Brian Young, Andy Kyriacou, BJ Botha, Dan Tuohy, Ryan Caldwell, Chris Henry, Willie Faloon, Robbie Diack

(15 – 9) Bryn Cunningham, Timoci Nagusa, Andrew Trimble, Ian Whitten, Nevin Spence, Ian Humphreys, Isaac Boss

Substitutions: Nigel Brady, Tom Court, Declan Fitzpatrick, Ed O’Donoghue, TJ Anderson, Ian Porter, Niall O’Connor, Jonny Shiels, Darren Cave
