Sixways fans dig deep for Soldiers Fund

A big thank you to supporters who generously donated money for The 2nd Battalion The Mercian Regiment at our Guinness Premiership clash with Sale Sharks on Saturday.

Non playing players were around the stadium on matchday collecting money in rugby balls for the regiment that the club has built and developed links with in recent months.

The playing squad and coaching staff gave a visual seal of approval for the regiment during pre-season by taking part in a facial hair competition to raise money for ‘The Soldiers Fund’.

The fund is used to support the welfare of the soldiers that unfortunately have been injured during the latest tour of Afghanistan and also help soldiers celebrate with freedom parades on their return.

And against Sale, our players collected over £1,500 for the regiment from generous supporters around the stadium. Thank you for your fantastic support.

Remember, it is not too late to donate to The Soldiers Fund. You can still do so by sending in cheques to Soldiers Fund, c/o Karen Andrews, Worcester Warriors, Sixways Stadium, Warriors Way, Worcester, WR3 8ZE. We will then we will pass on all payments to the local regiment. Cheques should be made payable to ‘CENTRAL BANK 2 MERCIAN’ and marked ‘For Soldiers Fund’ on the reverse.
