Shed Some Light – Provide Some Shelter

Supporters can tonight (Friday) buy a glowing wristband at our Guinness Premiership clash with Saracens and provide some shelter as part of a fundraising drive between Worcester Warriors and the Rotary Club of Worcester Vigornia.

Sixways stars Aleki Lutui, Dale Rasmussen, Tevita Taumoepeau and Sam Tuitupou were all recently on hand to inspect shelter boxes that Rotary Club of Worcester Vigornia will be fundraising to purchase.

The recent Tsunami disaster devastatingly killed over 100 people in several of the Pacific Islands. The Rotary Club of Worcester Vigornia and Warriors will now join forces at tonight’s game to sell wristbands to raise cash in a bid to buy four shelter boxes.

A Shelter Box, costing £490 each, can provide shelter and survival for up to ten persons for six months. In less than 10 years nearly 55,000 Shelter Boxes have been dispatched to over 80 disasters in 50 different countries and the Rotary inspired ShelterBox Trust is now considered to be the most effective and efficient disaster relief organisation in the world.

Rotary Club of Worcester Vigornia President Sue Fitzjohn was at Sixways to promote the shelter boxes to the players and at tonight’s game sellers will be in all public bar areas and around the stadium. For more details on shelter boxes visit www.shelterbox.org
