The MC on the night will be Paul Pirie who has had a consecutive succession of sell out shows at The Glasgow Comedy Festival, most recently in 2007, with his first solo show, “I Pirie the Fool”. Previous to this, his comedic ability was recognized in 2006 as he took second place in the Scottish Comedian of the Year Award, and his outstanding performances and comical writings were included in “Scotland 4 Australia 1” at the Glasgow Comedy Festival once again.

Opening act is Noel Britten, who has achieved a rare comedy first – a place in all the top British tourist guide books as “must do” place to visit. This is not because he his such a big star – although he is but not in physical terms – but because his Bizarre Bath comedy tours of his home City of Bath have won a place in all the aforesaid tourist guides and even BBC’s Holiday Show, where it was described as “brilliantly unforgettable”.

Headline act is Eddy Brimson and to say this East Ender has a colourful past is something of an understatement. Eddy has written a host of amusing anecdotal books, penned and hosted a top three selling video Teargas and Tantrums, and is also a regular “talking head’ for numerous radio and TV shows on subjects as diverse as football, dodgy builders and sexy baldness. As an actor, he has appeared on such diverse programmes as Absolutely Fabulous, The Thin Blue Line, Casualty, The Bill and EastEnders, where he played, you’ve guessed it, an East End villain, who torched Frank’s car lot.

Tickets for The Comedy Club at Sixways in January have been slashed – just like the festive sales – so you can enjoy a night of laughs for just £5 for members and £6 for non-members.

The show is over 18s only and doors open at 7pm for a show time of 8.30pm. Please note, all acts are subject to chance. A bar will run until midnight.

Waitress service will be on offer, a joke competition with prizes and food is available from 7pm until 8.15pm.
