No ban for Wood over dismissal at Rec

Worcester Warriors back row Tom Wood is free to play in the big Guinness Premiership match with Newcastle Falcons on Friday night (kick-off 8pm) after appearing at an Rugby Football Union Disciplinary Panel in Leeds tonight (Monday).

Wood was sent off just before the hour after receiving two yellow cards against Bath Rugby in the Guinness Premiership on Saturday.

However, the hearing in Leeds, chaired by Mike Hamlin and also comprising Barry O’Driscoll and Peter Rhodes, decided upon a ‘sending off sufficient’ judgement and Wood can now play again immediately.
