Goode vows to shine at the Warriors

New signing Andy Goode has vowed to play a big role in bringing success to Worcester Warriors after agreeing a move to Sixways from next season.

Coventry-born Goode, who has played 17 times for England and scored 107 points, will return to the Midlands after successful spells in France with CA Brive and Durban based Super 14 giants Sharks.

The 29-year-old, nominated for the Zurich Player of the Season in 2004/5 and PRA Players’ Player of the Year, has been impressed by the recruitment plans for next season and is keen to make his mark.

“I have spoken to Mike on several occasions about the Warriors and was impressed by his real passion to bring success and the way in which he sees me being a key role of that development over the coming years,” said Goode.

“I’ve also been impressed by the club’s recruitment ahead of next season, particularly the capture of Luke Rooney who I faced in the Top 14. I’m sure Luke will become a real asset to the Warriors and I look forward to combining with him and all the squad at Sixways.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my playing spell with Brive, I’ve made some fantastic friends and really benefitted from playing in a new environment.

“I’m now looking forward to the wonderful opportunity I’ve been given to take part in the Super 14 with Sharks and broadening my skills and experience.”
