Northampton Saints narrowly defeated Gloucester Rugby in a breathless LV= Cup final at Sixways Stadium, the home of Worcester Warriors, on Sunday afternoon.
Akapusi Qera scored first for underdogs Gloucester, barging over from close range, before Soane Tonga’uiha finished off a sweeping move at the other end.
James Downey touched down to give Saints the advantage at the break before a penalty try and a Nicky Robinson conversion gave Gloucester the lead.
However, scrum half Lee Dickson hit back with a sniping try and Saints held on for the win in an action packed encounter at Sixways Stadium.
