Director of Rugby Mike Ruddock has called on the Sixways faithful to turn out in force and ensure home advantage counts in the huge Guinness Premiership clash with Leicester Tigers on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).
Warriors have four of the remaining six league games on home soil as they entertain Leicester Tigers, London Irish, London Wasps and Gloucester Rugby at Sixways Stadium.
Ruddock hailed the fantastic home support and their massive role in the tense victory over Newcastle Falcons last month.
The Sixways chief has now vowed his troops will play with determination and desire in the crunch clash with Tigers and wants the superb home support to again raise the roof and inspire the team to victory.
“We are hoping that home advantage will prove the difference – it certainly did when we played Newcastle,” said Ruddock.
“The fans really got behind us and we really lifted our game against a Newcastle team that came with a big reputation in the scrum with Carl Hayman playing.
“We went on to record a really good victory and we want that sort of support to help us deliver again.
“Things will go wrong in the game – that is inevitable with any team. Even the best teams in the world, like Manchester United in football, sometimes make a few mistakes and let a goal in,” he added.
“It is important the fans stay with us and we help them stay with us by showing determination and desire to do well, to give them the performance they want.
“We didn’t disappoint against Newcastle and we are confident we can do the same. We have a very tight bunch of players and they are determined and composed to do well.
“We have been in this situation several times and it is not new to us. It has been evident that the boys are very composed about it and know that come game day there is no need to panic.
“We stick to the game plan – we know what we need to do without a sense of desperation. But we must wear our hearts on our sleeves and there is huge emotion in what we do.
“The team have had to play a lot of away games, we have only got two left, but we have got four at home.
“We all know in this league that home advantage is massive. We have got to make that count and it is up to us as a team to demonstrate that we deserve to be cheered.
“The fans have been fantastic all the way through and we want them to get behind that effort as always and cheer us on. If they think we are dropping off the pace at any time to get behind us and lift us again for another big effort.
“It’s going to be a team effort – on and off the field – by the fans and the players. They can help us come through this.”
