Latham determined to end stay on high

Full back star Chris Latham has spoken of his determination to finish the season on a winning note for Worcester Warriors against Gloucester Rugby and ‘give something back to the supporters’.

Latham will complete his two-year spell at Sixways Stadium with a Guinness Premiership local derby against Gloucester on Saturday, May 8 (kick-off 3pm).

The former Australia international has been a shining light for Warriors during his time at Sixways and the defeat at Leeds Carnegie has been a bitter pill to swallow.

But Latham has vowed to keep his professionalism and put on a performance on the final afternoon of the campaign to repay the fans that backed the team in huge numbers at Leeds and throughout the season.

“I have spoken over the course of my time here (at Sixways) about the supporters and the great backing that we always get,” said Latham.

“It’s very difficult, in that sense, that we play against Gloucester and we are already out.

“But having said that, we must be focused for that game and give something back to the supporters.

“There is enough talent in this group to easily come back up and be successful,” added Latham.

“We have seen it before with teams and look at what they are doing now. But you don’t come last for no reason and we have to look at that as a group and make sure that is acted upon.”

Latham makes his final appearance for the club on Saturday, May 8. For more information on the final game of the season call the Warriors Box Office on 01905 454183 or visit the online Tickets section at www.warriors.co.uk
