Dale Rasmussen has hailed the unwavering support of the Worcester Warriors fans to him and the club – and pledged to do everything to put a smile back on their faces after signing his new deal.
The former Samoa international has become a huge favourite with Sixwas supporters since making his move to the club in the summer of 2004 from Exeter Chiefs.
And the 32-year-old is very keen to repay that backing next season as Warriors launch the bid to return to the top-flight at the first time of asking.
He said: “The support here is very, very special. That loyalty to the club, we saw it against Gloucester with a sell out crowd and then up at Leeds, is what you must build clubs around.
“Loyal support that stays with you through the thick and thin, through all the trials and tribulations, is what is crucial.
“They have always supported me, with all the kind words fans had for me at the last game, and I really want to repay that.
“It puts the club in a great position for the future when you have that kind of backing and I want to be there for them to get this club back where it belongs.
“The ambition at Warriors has always excited me,” he added. “Cecil (Duckworth) has spoken to me about his passion and talked about his being a blip, he has recommitted to the cause and is still looking to fulfil the potential.
“I think that is great and inspiring, it’s key to the club going forward and becoming a top side in the Premiership.
“It has been a learning curve for everyone this season and no doubt it will serve us in the future. Now we must move on and rebuild to go forward.”
