Warriors reveal home league dates

Worcester Warriors has today revealed the club’s planned home fixture list for the 2010/11 Championship season – with the majority of games kicking off at the traditional time of Saturday afternoon.

Warriors launch the season with a big local derby home game against Birmingham & Solihull on Saturday, August 28 (kick-off 3pm).

The club will play host to a hat-trick of special Friday night games in October as Bristol, Cornish Pirates and Nottingham arrive at Sixways. Fixtures under the floodlights at Sixways always create a special atmosphere and the club hopes fans will once again support these games.

Worcester tackle a crunch local derby against Moseley on Boxing Day and have moved Saturday fixtures with Plymouth Albion, Esher and London Welsh forward to 12.30pm kick-offs to avoid clashing with England internationals on the same day.

“Saturday remains our established day for rugby, although we have moved a few away from 3pm to allow fans to watch the Warriors and then England internationals afterwards at the club,” said Charlie Little, General Manager.

“Friday night games at Sixways always produce a special atmosphere and different matchday experience so we always aim to schedule in a number of these games. It also allows supporters that play for local rugby teams on Saturday afternoon to watch the Warriors in action.

“The regular league season on home soil comes to an end early in February and so we have taken the opportunity to turn October into a really special month of evening games that we hope our supporters will get behind.”

Fans are reminded that all game dates and kick-off times remain subject to change. The British & Irish Cup pools and fixtures are being finalised and details of our three home games will be announced in due course.
