Boss vows to pick strong side for Bris

Head Coach Richard Hill has admitted he will select a powerful side for the RFU Championship clash with Bristol Rugby – as the Warriors prepare for a month of huge league encounters.

Worcester face three Friday night games at Sixways as well as a tricky trip to high flying Bedford Blues in the coming weeks and Hill is determined his side will shine.

After the victory over local rivals Moseley, Hill urged his team to sharpen up and admits he will now look to bring more consistency to selection to bring the test out of his top-of-the-table squad.

“I have got to keep on to the players about better performances and it will be a case of me, sooner than I was anticipating, looking at consistent selection to help the players,” he said.

“If we were playing really well and I was chopping and changing selection I would continue it. But, to be fair to the players, we need more consistency in selection to help them get used to it.

“It is up to me now. After six matches we haven’t clicked as I would like and I will go away and decide how we do that.

“At the moment there are players that are clearly number one and that will be reflected in the team next week,” he added.

“I have had a good look at the players and a pecking order is starting to shuffle out. There are 10 or 12 who you can ink in on the team sheet.

“Selection next week will be carefully considered because we need to pick a very strong team against Bristol because they are strong.

“We must rotate some players, but it will certainly be a strong side and I will tell them early in the week.

“We will work hard from Monday morning to make sure we are organised and mentally prepared for Bristol.”
