Kick off change for trio of home games

Worcester Warriors have today announced that the kick-off times for upcoming home fixtures with Plymouth Albion, Esher Rugby and London Welsh in the RFU Championship at Sixways Stadium have all now been moved to 3pm.

The games with Plymouth Albion (Saturday, November 13), Esher Rugby (Saturday, November 27) and London Welsh (Saturday, February 12) were all originally scheduled to kick-off at 12.30pm.

However, the club has now confirmed that the trio of dates have been moved back to the normal match day kick off time in a bid to ensure a bigger and better atmosphere at the home of the Warriors.

“Initially scheduled these games to avoid clashing with autumn internationals and Six Nations,” said Charlie Little, General Manager at Warriors.

“However, having revisited this decision from the summer, we now feel that having two regular dates and times for our kick-offs – Friday at 8pm and Saturday at 3pm – allows more people to plan their weekends.

“We have supporters coming from London and Devon for these fixtures and we want to give them as much time as possible to get to Sixways and enjoy the match day experience with us.

“We are also offering these clubs a commission to proactively sell tickets as we look to add to the spectacle and atmosphere and work closely with the other teams in the Championship to embrace the competition.

“We have two Friday night games coming up and while they are very popular and successful we are aware that not all Season Ticket holders can make these dates. I believe that the current majority of our Season Tickets committed to the club this season based on the understanding and expectation that the majority of games would kick off on a Saturday at 3pm.

“We will also ensure our fans do not miss a second of the international rugby on the same date as our games by recording them and showing them as live around the stadium complex following the completion of the Warriors game. I would expect several hundred in the Pitch View watching with our players post match.”

Tickets for all the home games in 2010 are available now from the online ticketing section of the Warriors Box Office by visiting www.warriors.co.uk. Call 01905 454183 for more information.
