Hill primed to unleash the Tomahawk

Richard Hill is set to introduce ‘one man destroying machine’ Oliver Tomaszczyk to the Warriors match day squad – after hinting the giant prop and scrum half Ollie Frost could force their way into his thinking for the side to face Cornish Pirates this Friday at Sixways Stadium (kick-off 8pm).

Highly rated front row Tomaszczyk – known at Tomahawk inside the dressing room and to his growing army of fans – moved to Sixways in June 2010 on a two-year deal.

The London-born prop has made an eye catching contribution in the Aviva A League in recent home games and could now join Frost – who has impressed at Stourbridge on loan – in making a first senior appearance of the season.

“There will a maximum of two changes to the starting line-up and we are just finalising that at the moment,” said Hill.

“What we will do is change the bench a little bit and we could see the likes of Oliver Tomaszczyk and Ollie Frost coming into the 22.

“I have seen both players in superb form for the A team and on the back of those performances they deserve a go.

“Oliver Tomaszczyk has already become a big crowd favourite from just playing two games out here,” added Hill. “Those who haven’t been down to see him play in A games will be very interested to see what he does on the field.

“He is a one man destroying machine – if you get in his way you get smashed, whether that is one of his own players or the opposition.

“He is really going to be some force for the future. When he puts a Worcester jersey on, he is a whole hearted player and gives absolutely everything.

“If you are carrying a ball towards him you are going to get flattened. We will look to introduce him in the second half and see if he can make an impact.”

Meanwhile, Hill has revealed Pat Sanderson should be fit to return in early November while lock Graham Kitchener is pushing for a start after shaking off a pelvic injury picked up against Bedford Blues.

“Graham Kitchener is doing well and has trained full on in a first team against the A team – he came through perfectly well,” said Hill.
