Work underway to protect stadium pitch

Supporters are advised that the RFU Championship clash between Warriors and Esher Rugby remains ON as staff at Sixways work around the clock to prepare the pitch and complex ahead of the league encounter this Saturday (kick-off 3pm).

Parts of the stadium pitch were covered overnight ahead of the frost and following the completion of today’s team run the entire playing surface will again be protected by the ground staff, led by Head Groundsman Martin Knight and Assistant Groudsman Richard Bush.

Fans are also advised that the roads in and around the Sixways complex will be gritted thanks to our friends at AA Salts to ensure fans can make the journey to the game safely on Saturday.

The club remains in regular contact with West Mercia Constabulary with regard to regional weather updates and liaising with the Highways Agency over local road conditions.

Shaun Roberts, Stadium Complex Manager at Warriors, said: “We remain very confident the game will go ahead as planned and all the staff at Sixways have been working hard to ensure we can enjoy tomorrow’s league game, despite the drop in temperatures.

“We would encourage supporters to continue to check the official club website but I would reiterate that currently the game will go ahead as scheduled.”
