Big win is a record-breaker by Warriors

Worcester Warriors officially tore up the club record books as they blitzed Bristol Rugby 81-13 in the RFU Championship play-offs at Sixways Stadium.

Richard Hill’s men scored 11 tries – including a stunning 54-point unanswered second half surge – as they ensured they finished the pool stages in emphatic fashion.

The result eclipsed a club record in the professional era as Warriors scored the most points in a league match on home soil with 81. The previous best was 78 against Liverpool St Helens in 1998 and Waterloo in 1999.

The team also tied the biggest margin of victory in the modern era which stands at 68 points. The result tied the previous best of 78-10 against Waterloo in 1999.
