Coach Andrew Stanley insisted Worcester Warriors would not dwell on the cup semi-final defeat as they started to prepare for the RFU Championship semi-final with Bedford Blues on Sunday, May 1 (kick-off 12.15pm).
Bedford Blues claimed victory in the first of two big semi-finals between the teams at Goldington Road.
The focus now switches to Sixways Stadium and Academy chief Stanley believes Warriors will put only a third defeat of the season in all competitions behind them and will be ready for the next semi-final showdown.
Stanley said: “This game is now gone and done and dusted. We were looking to keep that momentum going at the club and keep players in contention for selection with game time, that is healthy competition to have.
“We are very disappointed not to have got past Bedford today, full credit to them. But next week is on the horizon now and it is a massive game for us. The boys who have played today will play a part next week in preparing the team.
“It was a hard game of rugby and both teams were fully committed. There were one or two injuries picked up by both sides, but we have come here to win.
“It was confrontational and we are disappointed. But next week is a different game and different circumstances.”
Stanley also revealed the injury list from the game was not as bad as first feared as Joe Carlisle, Andy Short, Oriol Ripol and Will Radburn were all forced off.
“We have come through pretty unscathed,” he added. “Andy Short has a bit of a hamstring injury and Oriol Ripol has got a couple of stitches but he will take that.
“Joe has taken a little bit of a bang on the hip. It was more precautionary more than anything else when we took him off, he will assessed fully when it has settled down.”
